About Me Orlando fishing guide

Captain Kip

Hi, I am Captain Kip Grunloh,

I started fishing when I was a toddler, both my father and grandfather were avid fishermen and taught me how to fish.
My first big catch was at age 7 on West Lake Toho. I caught a 14 lb. 4 oz large mouth bass on a zebco 33 and 10 pound test line, obviously I have never forgotten  and from that moment on I was in love with fishing.
I have entered numerous tournaments like Bassmaster’s Series, FLW, Angler’s Choice Team tournament Trail, Red Men Tournament and many others. I’m proud of all my trophies which are beautifully displayed in my family room.
My grandfather Ben “Big Bass” Grunloh started guiding after he retired from the Air force and my father and I followed suit. I have been guiding in the Orlando Area for the last 17 years and in the process made friends with clients that come back year after year to fish the different Florida lakes.
My biggest bass to date is a 15 lb. 5 oz. monster!
My client’s biggest bass to date is an astonishing 14 lb. 10 oz gorilla (I like giving names to my catches!) My biggest Tournament weigh is 43 lb. 2 oz, 5 fish anchored with 13 lb. 13 oz. pig.
Customers ask all the time, when’s the best time to catch a trophy Orlando bass?
It doesn’t seem to matter in Central Florida, in the Orlando area we have private lakes like Sand Lake, clear lakes like Butler Chain and Conway Chain as well as big trophy lakes like Lake Toho.
Hope you give it a try, I look forward to help you catch your trophy bass!
Captain Kip
