Hello, this is Captain Steve Niemoeller.
I guided Rick and Laura of the day on Lake Jackson, they had traveled down from Ohio. We unfortunately did not catch a lot of fish, but we got quite a few bites with some weight to them. It was the first time Laura had ever caught a fish. So we had a lot of first today, it was her first time fishing, here first fish she had ever caught and she was able to catch it on an artificial lure which was a bounce.
We were swimming Bass Assassin Ding Dong plastic worms, rigged with just a hook and very small 1/64 oz weight. Catching it over submerged hydrilla most of the day. We ended up having a real blue bird day, the sun was real bright and little to no wind. It made the top-water bite none existent for the most part, we had to slow way down with the plastic worms.
All in all, we had a nice time and good day. I hope this gets Rick back out fishing as its been almost 15 years since the last time.
In the meantime, I will see you on the water.
